What is Voice Origination & Inbound?
Voice Origination & Inbound is the receiving side of Dollu's voice platform. Callers dial a local, national, mobile or toll-free number in any of 110+ countries and the call is picked up on the originating operator's network, carried across our backbone and delivered to your SIP infrastructure - a contact-centre platform, a UCaaS stack, a hosted PBX or your own softswitch - wherever in the world it sits.
Numbers are provisioned directly with Dollu or ported in, and every number is bound to a routing plan you control: primary and secondary SIP destinations, failover on timeout or error, time-of-day and geographic distribution, and optional per-number features such as CNAM lookup, SIP header enrichment or announcement on failure. Changes take effect within seconds from the portal or API.
Inbound traffic is delivered from geo-redundant media gateways in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Ashburn, Mumbai and Singapore. You can receive calls at the PoP closest to your platform, split traffic across regions, or take a private interconnect for high-volume or regulated inbound. Capacity is elastic: burst-heavy campaigns, seasonal peaks and TV-driven spikes are absorbed without you having to pre-order channels weeks in advance.
Reporting covers what inbound teams need - per-number and per-trunk call volume, answer and abandonment rates, SIP response distributions and delivery latency - with near-real-time CDRs by API or SFTP. Because origination, numbers, termination and messaging share one interconnect and one invoice, adding an outbound leg or SMS to a country you already receive calls from is a configuration change rather than a new supplier.
Inbound number flow: from the caller to your endpoint.
Why choose Dollu for voice origination.
The advantages of buying from a carrier that owns its network, interconnects and operations - rather than a reseller.
Local presence in 110+ countries
Give customers a local or toll-free number to call in each market without building a carrier relationship in each one; we hold the numbers, the licences and the interconnects.
Inbound that survives outages
Failover between your sites, our redundant gateways and optional announcement or voicemail fallback keep callers connected when a data centre or SIP trunk fails.
Capacity when the campaign hits
Elastic channels mean a national TV spot or a product-recall line does not overwhelm your trunks; you pay for the minutes, not for idle channels the rest of the year.
Configuration in seconds, not tickets
Route, re-route, add numbers or change failover behaviour yourself in the portal or through the API, with every change logged and reversible.
Consolidated numbers, voice and messaging
Origination sits next to termination, DIDs, toll-free and SMS on one contract, one portal and one NOC, simplifying vendor management for global inbound estates.
Capabilities in detail.
Everything included with Voice Origination & Inbound - the platform features, options and controls you get from day one.
- 01
Global number inventory
Geographic, national, mobile and toll-free numbers in 110+ countries with local numbers in 100+; instant activation on most inventory and managed porting where regulation permits.
- 02
SIP delivery and trunk management
Delivery over SIP/UDP, TCP or TLS to registered or IP-authenticated endpoints, with concurrent-call and CPS limits per trunk and per number group.
- 03
Routing plans and failover
Ordered destination lists per number or group; failover on no-answer timers, SIP 5xx or ICMP unreachability; time-of-day, day-of-week and caller-geography routing rules.
- 04
Header enrichment and CNAM
Pass P-Asserted-Identity, custom X-headers, DNIS and number tags to your platform; optional CNAM and caller-location lookup on inbound legs where available.
- 05
Announcement and fallback media
Play a hosted announcement or route to voicemail-to-email when all destinations fail, so callers never hear dead air during a platform incident.
- 06
Regulatory and compliance handling
Address and identity requirements per country, emergency-service registration where mandated, toll-free carrier arrangements and TRAI/DoT, Ofcom and EU documentation managed by our numbering team.
- 07
Analytics and CDRs
Per-number, per-group and per-trunk dashboards for volume, answer rate, abandonment, SIP response codes and delivery latency; CDRs via API and SFTP within minutes of call end.
- 08
Private inbound interconnect
IPsec, MPLS or PoP cross-connect for inbound at scale or under regulatory constraint, with dual-homed handoff and SRTP where required.
How it works.
From first conversation to live traffic - a tracked, engineer-led onboarding with a named owner at every step.
- Step 01
Choose numbers
Select countries and number types in the portal, or send us a porting list. Our numbering team confirms documentation and lead times per country.
- Step 02
Define delivery
Register or IP-authenticate your SIP endpoints, set trunk limits and build routing plans with primary, secondary and fallback behaviour.
- Step 03
Test inbound
Place test calls from our origination probes in each country to confirm delivery, headers, DTMF and codec negotiation into your platform.
- Step 04
Go live and monitor
Publish the numbers, watch answer and abandonment metrics in real time and let the NOC alert you to delivery anomalies before your customers do.
Premium, Standard or Wholesale.
Every destination on the Dollu rate deck is offered in up to three quality tiers. Pick per destination - or per customer - and mix them on one interconnect.
| Dimension | Premium (CLI-guaranteed) | Standard | Wholesale |
|---|---|---|---|
| CLI delivery | Guaranteed - the originating number is delivered intact to the called party | Best effort - CLI is normally delivered but not contractually guaranteed | Not guaranteed - CLI may be withheld or replaced on some routes |
| Route type | Direct operator interconnects and Tier-1 partners only | Direct and vetted partner routes, quality-steered in real time | Least-cost blended routes, swapped freely to hold the price |
| Typical ASR band | Highest | High | Variable |
| PDD | Lowest | Low | Variable - can rise on multi-hop transit |
| Best for | Contact centres, retail and enterprise traffic, OTP voice calls - anywhere the called party must see who is calling | Business traffic where quality matters and CLI is helpful but not mandatory | High-volume carrier, dialler and call-centre traffic where price per minute dominates |
| SLA | Per-destination ASR, ACD and PDD targets with service credits | Quality targets monitored and reported; credits on core availability | Core availability only; route quality is managed, not guaranteed |
| Price position | Highest | Mid | Lowest |
All three tiers ride the same SIP interconnect, portal and CDRs - the tier is chosen per destination prefix, so you can move traffic between them without a new set-up.
