What is Ethernet & Private Line?
Dollu Ethernet & Private Line services give you dedicated Layer-2 or optical capacity between two or more locations, with no routing, no shared queues and no dependence on the public internet. Whether it is a 10G Ethernet link between your primary and secondary data centre, a 100G wavelength between two cloud regions or a metro E-LAN joining a campus of buildings, the circuit is engineered end to end with a fixed path, deterministic latency and an SLA measured in milliseconds and minutes rather than best-effort promises.
Services are aligned to the MEF Carrier Ethernet model. E-Line delivers point-to-point Ethernet Private Line or Ethernet Virtual Private Line with committed information rates from 10 Mbps to 100 Gbps; E-LAN and E-Tree provide multipoint any-to-any or hub-and-spoke Layer-2 domains across sites; and wavelength services hand you a transparent 10G or 100G channel on our DWDM network for protocols and encryption of your own choosing. Every service is turned up with RFC 2544 or Y.1564 testing and monitored with Y.1731 performance OAM.
Reach is metro, national and international. We are on-net in more than 40 PoPs and major data-centre campuses across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, including our own facilities in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Ashburn, Mumbai and Singapore, and we extend to off-net buildings through fibre and licensed microwave from domestic partners. International routes use diverse subsea capacity so a London–Mumbai or Singapore–Ashburn circuit can be protected across physically separate cable systems.
Data-centre interconnect is where these services see the heaviest use. Storage replication, database clustering, virtual-machine mobility and backup all need low, stable latency and clean Layer-2 transparency, and DCI circuits from Dollu are delivered with protected or diverse-path options, jumbo frames, optional MACsec or optical-layer encryption and cross-connects into the major colocation operators, ordered and supported through the same portal and 24×7 NOC as the rest of your Dollu estate.
Why choose Dollu for ethernet private line.
The advantages of buying from a carrier that owns its network, interconnects and operations - rather than a reseller.
Deterministic, not best-effort
A fixed engineered path means the latency you measure at turn-up is the latency you get every day, which is what synchronous replication, trading systems and live media need.
Layer-2 transparency
Your VLANs, MTU, routing protocols and encryption pass through untouched, so the circuit looks like a very long patch lead between your own switches.
Protection built in
Protected services switch to a pre-provisioned alternate path in under 50 ms; diverse services give you two independent circuits for your own active-active design.
Scale in place
Start at 1G on a 10G port and step up to line rate with a configuration change; wavelengths grow from 10G to 100G on the same fibre pair.
Reach where your data lives
On-net in the data centres your workloads sit in, with cross-connects, meet-me-room presence and international routes on diverse subsea systems.

G.8032 ring protection and 1+1 path protection with sub-50 ms switchover, physically diverse routes, dual building entries where available and termination on separate PoPs.
- 07
Access options
Dollu and partner fibre in metro areas, national Ethernet from domestic operators, licensed microwave for rapid or diverse delivery, and in-building cross-connects at on-net data centres.
- 08
Testing and assurance
RFC 2544 and Y.1564 service activation testing, Y.1731 and 802.1ag OAM for continuous delay, jitter and loss measurement, portal reporting and proactive NOC alerting on threshold breach.
- 09
International reach
Protected international circuits across diverse subsea systems between Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, India and Asia-Pacific, with a single SLA and one point of contact end to end.
How it works.
From first conversation to live traffic - a tracked, engineer-led onboarding with a named owner at every step.
- Step 01
Scope
Tell us the A and B ends, bandwidth, latency target and protection requirement. We confirm on-net status, propose routes and diversity options and quote lead times.
- Step 02
Build
Fibre, cross-connects and optics are ordered and installed; the circuit is provisioned on our Ethernet or DWDM platform to the agreed path and protection scheme.
- Step 03
Test
RFC 2544 or Y.1564 activation tests confirm throughput, latency, jitter and loss against the SLA, and results are shared in the handover pack.
- Step 04
Operate
Y.1731 OAM monitors the circuit continuously; the 24×7 NOC handles incidents proactively and your account manager manages upgrades and renewals.
MPLS, DIA, broadband or 4G/5G.
No single transport suits every site. Most Dollu WAN designs mix them - an SD-WAN overlay stitches the underlays together and steers voice and critical apps onto the best path.
| Dimension | MPLS / IP-VPN | Dedicated internet access | Business broadband | 4G / 5G |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SLA | Highest - end-to-end latency, jitter, packet-loss and availability targets | High - availability and repair time on the circuit; the wider internet path is best effort | Best effort; consumer-grade repair times | Best effort; dependent on radio coverage and cell load |
| QoS | End-to-end classes of service across the Dollu core | Dedicated, symmetrical bandwidth; QoS to the network edge only | Contended and asymmetric; no QoS guarantees | Shared spectrum; private 5G adds on-site QoS and slicing |
| Cost position | Highest per Mbps | Mid | Lowest | Low - per SIM plus data |
| Lead time | Longest - new fibre and cross-connects; weeks to months | Weeks; faster where the building is already lit | Days to weeks | Days - hardware ships and activates on power-up |
| Best for | Voice-critical sites, regulated data, hub-and-spoke WANs | Head offices, data centres, cloud on-ramps, SIP trunks | Small sites, backup paths, SD-WAN underlay | Rapid deployment, temporary sites, resilience overlay, IoT and fleets |
