Overview

What is Cloud Calling Numbers?

Cloud Calling Numbers combine a Dollu number with our cloud voice platform so a business can be reachable on a professional number without a PBX, SIP trunk or telecom engineer. Pick a local, national, mobile or toll-free number in any of 110+ countries, decide where calls should ring - a mobile, an office phone, the Dollu softphone or mobile app, or a team of any of these - and start taking calls minutes later.

The bundle includes the features small businesses and remote teams actually use: multi-level IVR menus, business-hours and holiday schedules, ring groups and hunt groups, call queues with hold music, voicemail-to-email, call recording with retention controls, call transfer and conferencing, and a desktop softphone and iOS/Android app so staff can make and receive calls on the business number from anywhere. Outbound calls present the business number as caller ID.

Everything is managed from a browser-based admin console designed for non-technical owners and office managers: add a user, change the IVR greeting, re-route calls to a new mobile, pull a call log or listen to a recording without raising a ticket. Numbers can be added or removed as the team grows or moves into new markets, and existing business numbers can be ported in so nothing changes for customers.

Because it runs on the same carrier core that handles billions of wholesale minutes a year, cloud calling numbers get carrier-grade reliability, HD voice on app-to-app calls, and 24×7 support. Plans are priced per user or per number with bundled or metered minutes, and international calls from the app are charged at rates derived from our wholesale routes rather than retail tariffs. When the business outgrows the bundle, the same numbers move seamlessly to Dollu Cloud PBX, UCaaS or Microsoft Teams Direct Routing without porting or downtime.

Reading the diagramA caller dials your local, national or toll-free number. The in-country operator hands the call to Dollu over a direct interconnect; the numbers platform applies translation, CLI and routing rules and delivers the call over SIP to the endpoint you configured - PBX, UCaaS, contact centre, Voice API application or a PSTN forward. OPTIONS health checks and a per-number failover chain keep calls arriving when a primary endpoint is down.
Why Dollu

Why choose Dollu for cloud calling numbers.

The advantages of buying from a carrier that owns its network, interconnects and operations - rather than a reseller.

  • Professional in minutes

A local or toll-free business number with a greeting, menu and voicemail can be live before the end of your coffee - no installation, no contract with a local carrier.

  • Work from anywhere

Staff answer and make calls on the business number from their mobile app, laptop softphone or any forwarding number, so the team can be distributed and still sound like one company.

  • Never miss a customer

Ring groups, sequential forwarding, queues and voicemail-to-email make sure every call reaches someone or leaves a message that gets read.

  • Pay for what you use

Simple per-user or per-number monthly plans with bundled or metered minutes and no capital cost. Add or remove users month to month.

  • Grows with you

Start with one number and two users, expand to multiple countries and teams, and graduate to full Cloud PBX or UCaaS on the same numbers when you need more.
