Overview

Dollu in Mexico.

Mexico is served from Dollu's Ashburn PoP and through partner interconnect facilities in Mexico City and Querétaro, where we hold direct connections to Telcel, AT&T Mexico, Movistar and the fixed operators. Termination into Mexican fixed and mobile destinations is offered on Premium CLI-guaranteed, Standard and Wholesale tiers, with real-time quality steering, and origination on Mexican numbers is delivered over SIP to customers in Mexico, the United States and beyond. Nearshore contact centres serving US customers are a major use case.

Mexico's numbering plan, administered under the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), moved to uniform 10-digit dialling with no fixed-mobile prefixes. Dollu provisions local numbers in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and other areas, and 800 toll-free numbers, through licensed local partners. Business KYC covers RFC and constitutive documents for Mexican entities or a local partner arrangement for foreign companies. Numbers can be routed to your SIP platform, Dollu's cloud PBX or CCaaS, or Microsoft Teams, and porting follows the Mexican portability process.

A2P SMS to Mexican subscribers is delivered over direct connections and licensed aggregator routes to Telcel, AT&T Mexico and Movistar. Alphanumeric sender IDs are not reliably displayed on Mexican networks, so traffic is sent from short codes or long numbers, and marketing messages must respect consent under the LFPDPPP and the REPEP do-not-contact registry maintained by PROFECO. Dollu manages short-code programmes, consent records and REPEP screening, and supplies DIA, SD-WAN and cloud connectivity for Mexican sites through local carriers.

Regulatory & compliance

What you need to know before you order.

Our compliance desk manages the paperwork; here is what to expect.

  • IFT numbering and KYC

Numbers are assigned under the federal numbering plan through licensed concession holders. Business KYC covers RFC and constitutive documents for Mexican entities, or a local partner arrangement for foreign companies, plus address proof and signatory identity.

  • REPEP and LFPDPPP

Marketing calls and messages must be screened against PROFECO's REPEP do-not-contact registry, and personal data is governed by the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties. Dollu screens campaigns and maintains consent and opt-out records.

  • SMS sender identification

Mexican networks generally do not display alphanumeric sender IDs, so A2P messages are delivered from short codes or long numbers approved by the operators. Dollu manages short-code applications and operator content approvals.

  • Emergency calling and CLI

911 is the national emergency number, and callers may present only numbers assigned to them. Dollu screens international traffic that presents Mexican CLIs and configures outbound CLI on assigned numbers only.

FAQ

Mexico - common questions.

Still have a question?

Ask our solutions team

Since Mexico adopted uniform 10-digit dialling, callers dial fixed and mobile numbers the same way and the old 044 and 045 mobile prefixes were retired. Numbers are still allocated to fixed or mobile operators, but from the caller's perspective a Dollu local number behaves like any other Mexican number.
