Overview

What is Signalling Services (SS7, Diameter, HTTP/2)?

Signalling is the nervous system of mobile networks: it authenticates subscribers, locates them, sets up calls and sessions and moves them between networks. Dollu operates a global signalling platform spanning three generations of protocol - SS7 (MAP, CAMEL, ISUP) over TDM and SIGTRAN, Diameter for LTE and IMS, and HTTP/2-based 5G service-based interfaces - so operators, MVNOs, IoT providers and messaging companies can connect once and reach partner networks worldwide without building their own signalling relationships one peer at a time.

The platform is built around carrier-grade network functions: geo-redundant Signalling Transfer Points, Diameter Routing Agents and Security Edge Protection Proxies deployed across our PoPs in London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Ashburn, Mumbai and Singapore. These functions provide transport, hubbing and interworking - translating between SS7 and Diameter for LTE-to-legacy roaming, between Diameter and HTTP/2 for 5G-to-4G interworking, and normalising vendor-specific behaviour so that your core sees a clean, consistent peer regardless of what sits on the other side.

Security is not an add-on. Every signalling link passes through our signalling firewall, which screens SS7 Category 1–3 messages, Diameter and 5G traffic against GSMA FS.11, FS.19, FS.20 and FS.36 recommendations, blocking location tracking, interception, SMS spoofing and denial-of-service attempts while allowing legitimate roaming and interconnect signalling to flow. Threat feeds are updated continuously and every blocked event is logged and available to your security team through the portal and API.

On top of transport we offer lookup services that turn signalling into business data: number portability lookups for accurate routing and billing, HLR/HSS lookups returning live subscriber status, IMSI and serving network for anti-fraud and messaging optimisation, and MNP database access in 100+ countries. All are available over the same signalling links, or as simple HTTPS APIs for customers who only need the answers rather than the protocols.

Why Dollu

Why choose Dollu for signalling services.

The advantages of buying from a carrier that owns its network, interconnects and operations - rather than a reseller.

  • One connection, every peer

Connect a single SIGTRAN or Diameter link and reach hundreds of partner networks; we manage the point codes, GT ranges, realms and peer relationships on your behalf.

  • Protect subscribers and revenue

A signalling firewall in the path stops location tracking, SMS interception and fraud, and gives your security team evidence rather than surprises.

  • Bridge generations without a forklift

Interworking lets an LTE-only or 5G-first core roam onto legacy partners, and legacy cores serve 4G and 5G roamers, without adding vendors.

  • Route smarter with better data

MNP and HLR lookups let voice and messaging platforms route to the right operator first time, cutting failed calls and undelivered SMS.

  • Carrier availability and support

Geo-redundant functions, dual-homed links and a signalling NOC that watches every peer 24×7 with 15-minute P1 response.

Private, QoS-marked IP transport for GTP, Diameter and SIP-I traffic with dual-homed peering at our PoPs and 24×7 monitoring.

How it works

How it works.

From first conversation to live traffic - a tracked, engineer-led onboarding with a named owner at every step.

  1. Step 01

    Design

We map your point codes, global titles, Diameter realms and 5G PLMN identifiers, agree the routing and security policies and produce an interconnect design.

  2. Step 02

    Connect

Bring up SIGTRAN, Diameter or N32 links over IPX, cross-connect or IPsec at two of our PoPs for redundancy; complete link and route testing.

  3. Step 03

    Migrate peers

Move partner relationships onto the Dollu platform in waves; we handle peer coordination and run parallel operation until you are confident.

  4. Step 04

    Operate

Firewall policies, lookups and interworking run continuously with dashboards, alerts and monthly security reports; capacity grows as your traffic does.

Use cases

Who uses this and why.

Typical deployments across carriers, enterprises, platforms and contact centres.

  • Mobile network operators

Outsource international signalling, add a firewall in front of legacy STPs and gain 5G roaming readiness without new vendors.

  • MVNOs and full MVNOs

Independent HLR/HSS and roaming signalling with a hub connection instead of dozens of bilateral links.

  • Messaging and voice providers

MNP and HLR lookups to route SMS and calls correctly, screen invalid numbers and reduce cost per delivered message.

  • IoT connectivity providers

Signalling reach for multi-IMSI and sponsored-roaming SIMs across every generation of partner network.

  • Security and fraud teams

Signalling firewall logs and lookup data feeding SIM-swap, SMS interception and location-tracking detection.

Still have a question?

Ask our solutions team

No. Many customers connect a single pair of SIGTRAN or Diameter links directly from their core to our platform, and we provide the STP and DRA functions. If you already run your own, we peer with them as an international gateway and hub, so you can keep your domestic architecture unchanged.
